Andrew Leitch and Alexandra Tolk head up Betaville.

Andrew has a music and film background. Alex has a playwriting background. We've both done serious time at interactive agencies, and understand what works (and what doesn’t) in the online space.

Andrew’s the visual one. Alex is the wordsmith. Together, we write and direct video content that works for screens of all sizes—mobile screens, computer screens and even TV screens.

Here are our bios:

Andrew Leitch

Andrew is a film and video director. He’s also a veteran interactive creative director.

As a Creative Director for over 12 years, Andrew has led the creation of award-winning campaigns for Nike, Sony, MetLife and Scholastic at interactive agencies such as Agency.com, T3 Media, Braun Consulting and G2 direct & digital, part of the Grey Global Group. (You can see some examples of Andrew's interactive work here.)

Andrew has also written, directed and produced numerous film and video projects, including the recent Elevator Moods (Sundance, SxSW, Webby Award winner). Elevator Moods, which Andrew co-wrote, co-directed and co-produced, was acquired by A&E TV for broadcast, web and mobile distribution. Andrew also recently directed and co-wrote the short The Jetty, which premiered at the Darklight Film Festival in Dublin, Ireland.

Andrew’s extensive career in film and music began in his native Australia, where he played with two of that country’s most successful bands, GANGgajang and The Riptides. From his career as a musician he began producing and directing music videos, including titles for Nick Cave and Midnight Oil (both shot in New York, when he relocated here).

He also worked in the New York independent film world, producing and directing short films and music videos for Christine Vachon’s Apparatus Productions and Chris Hanley’s production company, RVI, among many others.
