Leading the design team responsible for numerous in-vehicle user experiences for Ford, GM, BMW, Mercedes, Toyota, Honda, and many others. Also focusing on future-state technologies coming to the vehicle, including augmented reality (heads-up displays), spatial audio, autonomous vehicles and the new Android Automotive Operating System.

Taught a series of master classes at NYFA within their Narrative Virtual Reality program, focusing on how to structure experiences in cinematic virtual reality (using a VR-specific storyboard template which I designed), and then taking their concepts through to completed VR projects.

Virtual Reality Lab Fellow
NYU Media and Games Network (MAGNET), September 2016 — January 2018
Selected to participate in NYU MAGNET’s VR Lab, a program for media creators and technologists to ideate, prototype and build virtual and augmented reality experiences. Directed a Cinematic VR experience, Now Then, with fellow lab participant and Academy-Award-winning producer Ryan Silbert, which was featured at the lab’s Demo Day, sponsored by Time Magazine and Oculus.

Founded Betaville to create experiences for the web, video and virtual reality. Projects included consulting with NBCUniversal's TV Everywhere and Digital Products groups, and with ITVS, part of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, leading experience design strategy for OVEE, their live streaming product.

Wrote, directed and designed the experience for Elevator Moods, a web series set in an elevator and shot from the POV of a surveillance camera. Elevator Moods was an Official Selection at Sundance, a Finalist at SXSW Interactive, a Webby winner (Best Broadband Site) and was ultimately acquired by A&E TV.

Led the User Experience Group for Braun Consulting, acquired by Fair Isaac (FICO), working at the intersection of technology, strategy, user interface and visual design. Developed a new undergraduate course called Technology and Writing, focused on creating and coding multimedia projects. The course mixed hands-on learning with a more theoretical examination of hypertext, interactive cinema and digital video.

Creative leader of the Interactive Design group, providing creative direction on projects including Scholastic (winner of two Webbies), Sony and American Express. Creative lead for new business development. Responsible for hiring and mentoring a staff of twenty, and building one of the first dedicated UX practices at a digital agency.

Led the redesign of MetLife.com, and launched foundational online experiences for Nike, including Michael Jordan’s Jumpman 23 and the Brazilian national soccer team’s site, Brasil Futebol.

Developed creative briefs and new business proposals for clients such as Aries Online Games, HarperCollins and the Museum of Modern Art. Managed client relations and production team. Helped lead the strategy for the new iteration of MoMA’s web site.
